This is the second issue of the African Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Medicine
(AJOMPM), following the official launching of the journal in September 2015, held during the
inauguration of the African Regional section of the International Association of Oral Pathology
(IAOP) in Lagos. Since then this journal has been circulated within Nigeria and other countries
including United Kingdom, South African, Ghana, Kenya etc.
The journal now receives contributions from members of the National Association of Oral and
Maxillofacial Pathology and Medicine, as well as colleagues from other dental and medical
specialties. The current issue of the journal has provided our readership with publications of
recent research on aetiopathogenesis of odontogenic tumour, case reports of rare orofacial
diseases in our environment, the biological aspects in tooth developmental abnormality, and
assessment of learning environment. These articles are contributions from specialties of Oral and
Maxillofacial Pathology and Medicine, Oral Biology and Mental Health. We feel that the
contents of this issue of the journal will be interesting to our readers.
